    Yumi (Mari Atsumi, The Bodyguard) struggles to focus on college as her mother Tomi (Akemi Negishi, King Kong vs. Godzilla) works as a hostess. When Yumi’s stepfather assaults her, her dreams shatter. Forced to take over her mother’s position, Yumi must navigate a perilous nightlife filled with lecherous men and Yakuza predators.

    In a bid to cure Alzheimer’s disease, researchers Susan McCallister (Saffron Burrows, Troy) and Jim Whitlock (Stellan Skarsgård, Ronin) conduct experiments on mako sharks. Their project goes awry when they inadvertently create super-intelligent sharks that go on a destructive rampage. The film boasts a cast featuring Samuel L. Jackson, Thomas Jane, LL Cool J, Michael Rapaport, Jacqueline McKenzie, and Aida Turturro.

    In a picturesque rural village, a day of mischief turns dark when one of three boys goes missing. Andrea Martelli (Tomas Milian, The Big Gundown), a journalist from Rome, unravels the mystery amid a swarm of suspicious villagers. With a gypsy performing eerie rituals and police eyeing the mentally challenged Giuseppe (Vito Passeri, The Psychic), the film sets up a tense investigation to uncover the real predator.

    The release features commentary by Troy Howarth, a video discussion with author Mikel J. Koven, and a video essay by critic Kat Ellinger.
