WHAT WE THOUGHT
“Ancient Aliens” would’ve floored me when I was 12. Fortean knowledge and weird aliens conspiracies was my cup of tea back then. Unfortunately, life and knowledge have a way of taking a piss on your expectations. The material is pretty pedestrian, but the talking heads sell it with their commitment. Plus, that one guy with the hair is still there. The sixth season is a collection of eight episodes that seem to keep returning to that whole Chariot of the Gods angle.
While the material has become fodder for internet comedians, there’s still some interesting discoveries. Unfortunately, it’s just a bunch of low grade academics sitting around and speculating on things that never were. While it beats watching people restore cars and sell valuables, I still have trouble finding the actual history in digging through what White Trash America dubs to be entertaining.
The Blu-Ray comes with no special features. The A/V Quality is on par with the last couple of releases. The 1080p transfer is pretty sharp. The same goes for the DTS-HD 5.1 master audio track. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase.
