“7 Minutes” is yet another tale of a bank robbery gone bad. If you’re keeping count, that means we’ve covered three in the past three weeks at AndersonVision. It’s not like I have a thing for these movies, but I appreciate a good slice of crime fiction. Unfortunately, we get another movie that believes manipulating plot structure and temporal flow dictates what makes for a great story. When it’s all said and done, I’ve seen it before and I didn’t care then.
I hate when I get films like this, because you can’t really fault them. They do their job and get in/get out before they start to run overlong. It’s just that nothing ends up being of any importance. If your worst crime is being boring, then you’re just a trifle of a film. Cinema is based on light trifles. Hell, I know people that only enjoy light trifles.
The Blu-Ray comes with featurettes as the special features. The A/V Quality is strong for a crime drama. The Dolby TrueHD 5.1 supports the full channel approach and the 1080p transfer supports the action. I can only recommend a rental.
