“Yellowbird” is an offensive movie about a little bird finding his way. Well, his way and the rest of the avian fellows’ way to Africa. After the first 20 minutes, I hope that you family will quit arguing over who is voicing the lead. It’s not Justin Long, it’s Seth Green. You know…him. The ginger dude who voices Chris Griffin and has been playing a teenager off and on for 20 years now.
Seth Green is still an amazing voice actor, but not a great one. That sounds like I’m trying to find a spot of trouble, but it’s true. The guy gets work, but he doesn’t have the acting authority to really demand a lead. When you’re doing a seemingly DTV movie with washed up actors and fellow former kid actors that can’t really demand focus creates a scenario where you’re the star by default.
The DVD comes with a Digital Copy and a featurette as the special features. The A/V Quality is sharp enough. However, it’s not like these releases ever really pop. Still, the Dolby track covers all channels. In the end, it’s worth a purchase.
