THE PLOT THUS FAR

Creature teachers Chris and Martin Kratt will take families along on extraordinary animal-powered adventures. The show transforms the Kratt Brothers into animated versions of themselves, allowing the real-life zoologists to visit wild animals in their little-seen habitats and showcase key science concepts. Episodes include: Rainforest Stew, and Shadow: The Black Jaguar.

WHAT WE THOUGHT

“Wild Kratts: Rainforest Rescue” is a fun look at animal adventures. The disc is rather short, as it only focuses on two animated adventures. The Creature Power Suits and how they are deployed throughout the series is just this walking oddity. Still, kids will get to learn about animals in between the weirdness. That being said, I still don’t know if kids actually watch PBS outside of the Pre-K set.

The DVD comes with printable PDF activities. The A/V Quality is pretty sharp for standard definition. However, there are minor moments of digital noise. The Dolby  track supports the dialogue and that’s all that matters for an important documentary like this. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase.
