Amazon Releases Two New Kindle Paperwhite Colors
The debate between books and ebooks has been going on since time immemorial. And while many people have weighed in on the advantages of ebooks, a definitive answer to this question is yet to be found. With that being said ebooks, and consequently ebook readers, have become massively popular over the last couple of years.
And one driving force that has moved the needle in this industry is the extremely popular Kindle Paperwhite. Indeed, this device is one of the most popular ebook readers out on the market today. Which is why it isn’t really surprising that Amazon is releasing new versions of this beloved device. If you want to know more about this, read on for more details on the new Kindle Paperwhite.
New Look, Same Great Product
The last time that Amazon updated the Paperwhite was back in 2018 when they refined its design to the version that we now know. These changes included making the device thinner, lighter, and even went out of their way to make the Paperwhite water-resistant. These developments were made possible due to the perpetually improving process of electronics and circuit-board design.
One factor that has contributed to the innovations in devices such as these can be attributed to how easy it is to share PCB layouts, as people can now view them through their browsers without the need for special software. This has made the process infinitely more accessible and convenient, which has surely nurtured the spirit of innovation. The developments to the Paperwhite set a new standard for what an ebook reader should be like.
This is why it’s not surprising that Amazon keeps coming back to this model. Last month Amazon released two new colors for the Kindle Paperwhite. The new Kindles now come in two colors: plum and sage. All in all, the Paperwhite now comes in four colors mainly, black, twilight blue, and the two new additional colors. An important thing to note when getting the new colors is that only the back panel of the device is colored, with the front part remaining black whichever color you choose. These new variations retain the features of the ever-popular 2018 version of the device, which means the old adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” seems to be rather apt.
Why is the Paperwhite So Popular?
But what is it that makes this particular model so popular? Well, for one thing, the water-resistant feature is quite helpful as people often take their Kindles to the beach or read while they take a nice long bath. However, the Paperwhite’s biggest advantage is that it is as close to the print reading experience as you’ll ever get. One reviewer details that the Paperwhite has optimized its display in a way that puts as little strain on your eyes as possible, allowing you to read for hours on end.
I use the Paperwhite to review all Digital Books sent to AndersonVision for coverage.
If you miss reading something on paper, we recommend that you check out our review of Comprehensive Guide to Cult Cinema! I covered this Cult Epics release on paper and digital. As much as I love physical media, I have to say I enjoyed the digital presentation on the Kindle Paperwhite so much better.
That’s why it was the only way I reviewed Bunny Yeager in Mexico.
