WHILE WE’RE YOUNG

“While We’re Young” is standard Baumbach. This time, he seems to embracing his age and giving into tired Generation X angst. Aging is a bitch, but the film revels in its hatred of the young. All the while, it also revels in everything that sucks about Generation X. Everyone sucks, no one is real and nothing is as cool as it was back when they were in their 20s.

Congrats, Generation X…you became the Baby Boomers but without the track record of real accomplishments. The cast is amazing for a film about whining vs. experience. But, everyone plays their part. I’d love to see the same material get tackled from Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried’s perspective. I’m not holding my breath, though.

The Blu-Ray comes with a Digital HD copy and no special features. The A/V Quality is pretty sharp for a quiet quirky movie. The DTS-HD 5.1 track supports the dialogue. Plus, the 1080p transfer sports no signs of visible noise. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to this film’s target audience.

Release Date: 6/30/15
