WHEN CALLS THE HEART: 6-MOVIE COLLECTION GIFT SET REVIEWED
When Calls The Heart continues its epic run of giving Grandma something to watch on TV. The older people need family fare that doesn’t demand too much. Honestly, I appreciate that Hallmark takes a shot at something like this rather than their terrible TV movies. I’m not going to call this show anything resembling a high brow costume drama. But, damn if it doesn’t try to walk its balancing act. It wasn’t until the second year that I realized it was a preachy show.
Honestly, it’s like a slightly more Jesus-y take on Little House on the Prairie. That’s not bad and you need something to watch with your loved ones. It always can’t be tit flicks and Italian horror movies. Try to be a person for once. This gift set even includes an inspirational book. Your grandparents still read. Well, the ones that are still alive.
