Logo, the Emmy® award-winning and leading entertainment brand inspired by the LGBT community and NewNowNext, the network’s home for LGBT pop culture and news, today premiered their inaugural editorial series, “Letter To Myself.” The NewNowNext series, which launched two days before National Coming Out Day, features letters penned by 40 prominent figures in the LGBTQ community to their younger selves, which provide insight, advice, praise, and/or comfort that they wish they had back then. Hailing from a variety of backgrounds and industries, the authors include actor Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman (UnREAL), Grammy Award-winning artist Melissa Etheridge, actor Daniel Franzese (Looking, Mean Girls), Black Lives Matter Co-Founder Alicia Garza, transgender activist Jazz Jennings (I Am Jazz), RuPaul’s Drag Race runner-up Peppermint, LCD Soundsystem’s Gavin Russom, RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Sasha Velour and many more.
The campaign was launched in hopes that today’s LGBTQ youth will understand that they are not alone – that their feelings, ambitions, hopes and dreams are often shared by those they look up to.
Below is a sampling of quotes from participating talent and activists:
Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman: “You are light. You are right.”
Melissa Etheridge: “Start loving yourself as much as you want others to love you.”
Daniel Franzese: “The sooner you can learn to accept yourself, the sooner the world will be ready for your greatness.”
Alicia Garza: “The goodness of the world only prevails when we are courageous enough to defend it.”
Jazz Jennings: “You will see change be brought upon this world – a change that you will help create.”
Peppermint: “Thank you for daring to find your place even though it meant you will be called names and attacked.”
Gavin Russom: “Find other girls like you and listen to their stories. They will help you understand your own.”
Sasha Velour: “There will be many missteps. Make sure you are wearing cute shoes.”

Man from Earth: Holocene OPENED on Friday!
Parade Deck Films have acquired theatrical distribution rights to the new film, THE MAN FROM EARTH: HOLOCENE. A theatrical release date of October 13 has been set for the film with its opening weekend in Los Angeles and New York and a platform release plan to follow. The new movie from filmmaker Richard Schenkman marks the 10 year anniversary sequel to the 2007 sci-fi cult classic, JEROME BIXBY’S THE MAN FROM EARTH. The original film is currently ranked among IMDb’s top 50 Science Fiction films of all time and was an early digital platform success story on Netflix and Amazon. The sequel stars David Lee Smith, reprising his role from the original film, Vanessa Williams as his companion and Michael Dorn as his colleague. William Katt also returns for the sequel.
THE MAN FROM EARTH: HOLOCENE catches up with John Oldman (David Lee Smith), the 14,000 year-old “Man from Earth” who is now comfortably hiding in plain sight as a college professor in Northern California. His existence comes crashing down when four students discover his deepest secret, putting his life in grave danger and potentially shaking mankind to its very soul.
Schenkman is still in awe of the reception the original MAN FROM EARTH film received on a worldwide scale. Schenkman shared, “It truly became a cult phenomenon. Even without a major commercial release, the film has garnered well over 140,000 votes on IMDb, and more than 607,000 ratings from Netflix users. It’s played festivals all over the planet, and everywhere I go, I meet fans whose lives have been touched by this picture. It’s truly humbling.”
Despite the international success of the original film, Schenkman resisted making a follow up until he was able to come up with a concept that was on-par with the quality of the original film’s screenplay, the last script ever completed by legendary sci-fi author Jerome Bixby. Fans around the world have been waiting 10 years for more tales of Professor John Oldman.
THE MAN FROM EARTH: HOLOCENE stars David Lee Smith (Fight Club), Vanessa Williams (“Ugly Betty”), Michael Dorn (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”), William Katt (“The Greatest American Hero”), Sterling Knight (“Sonny with a Chance”), Akemi Look (A Wrinkle in Time) and Brittany Curran (“The Magicians”).
Additionally, the 10th Anniversary Special Edition of JEROME BIXBY’S THE MAN FROM EARTH will be released in November 2017 from MVD Entertainment featuring an all-new HD master on both Blu-ray and DVD. The release will include a new 88 minute documentary, THE MAN FROM EARTH: LEGACY, produced by Richard Schenkman chronicling the history of the film and its lasting impact.

Mike Epps and Katt Williams to Star in “Meet The Blacks” Sequel “The House Next Door” from Deon Taylor
Comedy icons Mike Epps (“The Hangover,” “Death Wish,” “Girls Trip”) and Katt Williams (“Friday After Next,” “Norbit,” the upcoming “Father Figures”) will star opposite one another in the urban comedy “The House Next Door” – a sequel to Deon Taylor’s 2016 urban indie hit “Meet the Blacks.”
The pairing marks a reunion for Epps and Williams who last starred together in New Line’s 2002 hit “Friday After Next”, also a sequel in Ice Cube’s popular “Friday” movie franchise.
Deon Taylor (“Traffik,” “Motivated Seller,” “Supremacy”) is directing “The House Next Door” as well as producing the film with partners Roxanne Avent and Robert F. Smith. Mike Epps is a producer on the film via his Naptown Productions banner along with producing partner Niles Kirchner, who is executive producing. Katt Williams is executive producing as well.
In addition to Epps, who starred in “Meet the Blacks,” many of the original cast will return for the sequel, including Bresha Webb (“Ride Along 2”, “Marlon”), Zulay Henao (“Fighting”), social media star Andrew Bachelor (aka ‘King Batch’), and comedians Lil Duval, Michael Blackson and Tyrin Turner.
After surviving a night of terror and becoming a best-selling author, overstressed Carl Black (Epps) moves his family back to his childhood home where he hopes to work in peace and quiet on a new book that he owes his publisher. But when his quirky neighborhood becomes host to a mysteriously extravagant pimp (Williams), Carl’s work is interrupted after his dead-beat cousin becomes convinced the new neighbor is actually a vampire and is trying to steal Carl’s entire family away. Carl is forced to team up with an oddball cast of neighborhood characters as they take the fight to the vampire pimp in a hilarious battle for Carl’s family… and the future of his old hood.
Principal photography is set to commence next week in Atlanta, Georgia.
Said Taylor, “Mike and Katt are so comedically explosive together. I don’t know how we’re going to keep it together on set with these two at the top of their game, but we’re happy to have this as our problem to deal with! Audiences really responded to ‘Meet the Blacks’ so we’re happy to give them another dose of dysfunction with ‘House Next Door.’”
Mike Epps recently wrapped “The Trap” which he stars in, wrote and produces under his Naptown Banner with Queen Latifah and Tip Harris. He also wrapped the independent film “Acts of Violence” opposite Bruce Willis.
“The House Next Door” continues a busy year for Taylor who wrote, directed and produced the thriller “Traffik,” which will be released by Lionsgate’s Codeblack Films in April 2018 and stars Paula Patton, Missi Pyle, Omar Epps, William Fichtner and Roselyn Sanchez. Taylor also wrote directed and produced the thriller “Motivated Seller” starring Dennis Quaid, Michael Ealy and Megan Good, and also produced, with Jamie Foxx, the comedy feature “All-Star Weekend,” starring Foxx, Robert Downey Jr., Gerard Butler, Eva Longoria, Jeremy Piven, Jessica Szohr – directed by Jamie Foxx.
To date, Taylor’s films have all been financed by his longtime business partner and lead investor, Robert Smith. Robert Smith founded Vista Equity Partners in 2000 and is the firm’s Managing Principal. Vista has consistently ranked as one of the top Private Equity Firms in the world over the past 10 years with over $3 billion in capital under management.
Mike Epps is represented by CAA, Primary Wave Entertainment and attorney Todd Ruebenstein.
ICM Partners represents both Katt Williams and Deon Taylor and will handle worldwide sales of the film.
