Weekend Roundup: Daredevil Season 1, If There's A Hell Below, Beauty and the Beast, Mark Hamill's Pop Culture Quest 1

Marvel’s Daredevil: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray Today! Here’s a clip or two!

“Marvel’s Daredevil” follows Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), attorney by day and vigilante by night. Blinded in an accident as a child, Murdock uses his heightened senses as Daredevil, fighting crime on the streets of New York after the sun goes down. His efforts are not welcomed by powerful businessman Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) and others whose interests collide with those of Daredevil. Though Murdock’s day job portrays a man who believes in the criminal justice system, his alter ego suggests otherwise, as he takes the law into his own hands to protect his Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood and the surrounding communities.

The complete first season of the Netflix Original Series “Marvel’s Daredevil” is available to own on Blu-ray™ on Nov. 8. Season 1 of the action-packed drama was recently honored as Best New Media TV Series at the 42nd Annual Saturn Awards hosted by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films. The home release of Season 1 will thrill fans with all 13 episodes.

IF THERE’S A HELL BELOW comes to digital + DVD December 6th. The poster and trailer are here!

Deception, lies and secret encounters fuel the gripping paranoid thriller IF THERES A HELL BELOW, about a fateful meeting between a journalist and a whistleblower. The powerful debut by director Nathan Williams comes to Digital HD and DVD on December 6, 2016.

Abe is an ambitious young journalist at an independent Chicago weekly. He has a lead on a story that could make his career. Debra, a woman claiming to work in national security, has a serious revelation to leak. She insists on meeting Abe in a desolate place in the American West – perhaps because it is near her undisclosed work site, or perhaps because she will only reveal her information in absolute isolation.
In minutes, they will meet. An hour later, one of them will be dead. This simple premise expands into multiple layers of depth as the tension is raised to almost unbearable levels.
Bathed in paranoia, IF THERE’S A HELL BELOW is a cinematic journey down a rabbit hole of betrayal and surveillance where credibility is the only measure of trust, and the fate of one life or millions may hang in the balance.
Featuring standout performances by Connor Marx (TV’s Leverage, Lucky Them) and award winner Carol Roscoe (Gamers: Dorkness Rising), Nathan Williams’ political thriller is a tense, unnerving exploration of the use and abuse of power and the terrifying ramifications it has when held in the wrong hands.
The Hollywood Reporter called IF THERE’S A HELL BELOW “a spare, subdued thriller.” Indiewire said, “The topical film about whistleblowers and journalists will offer no shortage thought-provoking themes.” Twitch Film called it “a meticulously crafted tale of government secrets and whistle blowers in a post-Edward Snowden world.”

IF THERE’S A HELL BELOW, which had its world premiere at the 2016 Slamdance Film Festival, joins The Fifth Estate, Citizenfour and Mr. Robot as vivid and disturbing depictions of the unsettling times we live in.

On November 15th the force will be strong on devices across the nation as Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest comes to Comic–Con HQ. Mark Hamill has been collecting comic books, original artwork, toys and other mementos since the early 1970s and now he gets to share his passion and enthusiasm for collecting in his new web series.

“I’ve been a collector all my life,” said Hamill. “This show is a natural outgrowth of that passion. Now I have an opportunity to collect other people’s collections! I can’t wait to see what’s out there and share it with the world. Collectibles are a living history of who and what we are, so we just might learn something…but there’s no doubt we’re going to have fun!”

This series kicks off at the DC Comics headquarters with the legendary Jim Lee, as the co-publisher and Mark trade favors and end up with their very own pieces of pop culture history. Join Mark throughout the season as Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest uncovers comic book memorabilia, film props, Godzilla, pinball machines and beyond with special guests including monster amasser Scott Zilllner, famous collector Bob Burns and many more!

Hamill will once again team with his friend and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi producer Howard Kazanjian.  Kazanjian was Executive Producer on Raiders of the Lost Ark and served as VP at Lucasfilm during the dramatic expansion of the company in the 1980s. Producer Darren Moorman, whose film Same Kind of Different as Me will be released next year, and longtime collector and vintage show promoter Scott Kinney will round out the producing team as Executive Producers on the series.

San Diego Comic-Con is only once a year, but Comic-Con HQ is year-round! The new subscription video – on – demand destination is available at Comic-ConHQ.com via web browsers, iOS/Android devices, Roku, AppleTV and Amazon Channels, with more to come.
