Vegas, Again: The 62nd ACM Awards Set for May 16, 2027 on Prime Video

Country music’s biggest night returns to the MGM Grand Garden Arena after a record-setting 61st ceremony that delivered an estimated $53 million economic impact to Las Vegas.

The Academy of Country Music is doubling down on Las Vegas. The ACM, Prime Video, and Dick Clark Productions have announced that the 62nd Academy of Country Music Awards will return to the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday, May 16, 2027. It will mark the second consecutive year the show calls the Vegas venue home and the sixth straight year it streams on Prime Video, and the decision comes on the heels of a 61st ceremony that, by the numbers, was a genuine blockbuster.

A Record-Setting Return

The 2026 show made a powerful case for keeping the awards in Las Vegas. According to economic analysis firm Greyhill Advisors, the 61st ACM Awards on May 17, 2026 generated an estimated $53 million in total economic impact for the Las Vegas region, an 85 percent year-over-year increase over the 2025 show in Frisco, Texas, and a strong endorsement of the event’s return to the city after a three-year absence.

The breakdown is striking. The event generated $15.7 million in increased employee earnings and supported roughly 290 full-time-equivalent jobs across industries from television production and event operations to hospitality and transportation. Visitor spending alone accounted for $24.3 million of the total. And a full week of related concerts, brunches, dinners, pre-parties, after-parties, and fan and industry events added another $4.5 million in activity for local hotels, restaurants, and venues.

A Streaming and Social Engine

Beyond the host city, the 61st ACM Awards proved its muscle as a discovery platform. Per entertainment data firm Luminate, both established stars and emerging artists saw notable jumps in streaming after the show. Ella Langley led all artists with more than 1.8 million additional U.S. on-demand audio streams the next day, while Parker McCollum posted next-day percentage gains of nearly 14 percent in the U.S. and worldwide. Among rising talent, Avery Anna recorded the strongest three-day growth and Amazon Music Breakthrough artist Carter Faith posted the largest week-over-week gains, growing U.S. streams by more than 61 percent.

The social footprint was equally robust. ACM Awards accounts garnered over 153 million video views across Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, and Facebook, a 35 percent year-over-year increase, while the Billboard x ACM Awards Red Carpet Livestream drew 5.4 million views.

A Night to Remember

On stage, the 61st ACM Awards, hosted by Shania Twain, featured 17 performances from country’s biggest stars. Cody Johnson earned his first ACM Entertainer of the Year award, while Ella Langley led all winners with a record-breaking seven trophies, setting a new benchmark for the most ACM wins by a single artist in one year. Additional multiple-award winners included Miranda Lambert and Stephen Wilson Jr., with standout honorees Parker McCollum, Brooks & Dunn, Riley Green, Avery Anna, Tucker Wetmore, and The Red Clay Strays rounding out a night that balanced established stars with the next generation. The rebroadcast remains available on Prime Video.

A Bit of History

Established in 1966, the Academy of Country Music Awards is the longest-running country music awards show. It made history in 2022 as the first major awards ceremony to exclusively livestream, in collaboration with Prime Video, and is the first country music awards show to be nominated for an Emmy Award. Notably, the 2027 show keeps its Sunday-night slot, widely regarded as the optimal night for awards viewing, after the ceremony spent earlier Prime Video years on Monday and Thursday nights.
