Now, we’ve got the Three Stooges release where we get two films from the original Stooges in stunning HD. I’m not a huge fan of “Time Out for Rhythm” or “Rockin’ in the Rockies”, but I appreciate where they fall in the Stooges canon. “Have Rocket, Will Travel” is the one that’s way more famous for being Curly Joe’s debut. It’s also one of the first feature shot in proper widescreen format.

These films are Curly Joe releases, so vintage Stooges fans might be annoyed. But, there’s plenty of material here to enjoy. Think of it like Godzilla. Three generations, three styles and a different approach to each era. What’s weird about the older flicks on here are how they don’t even seem like Stooges movies. The entries were early in Columbia’s life, so I guess that counted for something. Still, the Three Stooges feel like an act that got established way earlier than they did.

The Blu-Ray comes with no special features. However, this is the best A/V Quality that these films have received on home video. The 1080p transfer play dark, but the boast far greater definition. However, the Dolby stereo track is pretty lossy. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to Stooges fans.
