TABLE FOR THREE 1

THE PLOT THUS FAR

Scott is suddenly single and alone after his girlfriend dumps him during his marriage proposal and his roommate moves thousands of miles away. But when he invites super-nice strangers Ryan and Mary to share his apartment, they soon begin to intrude on every aspect of his life including his new relationship with the girl of his dreams. Is Scott just being paranoid or does this seemingly ‘perfect couple’ need a third wheel to keep them rolling? Get ready for a twisted romantic comedy about bad dates, worse friends and the madness that waits at a TABLE FOR THREE.

WHAT WE THOUGHT

Scott Teller’s life is turned upside down when he meets Ryan and Mary, a seemingly perfect couple who move into his apartment and his life. He quickly becomes their third wheel. But when Scott meets the girl of his dreams in Leslie he believes that Ryan and Mary are intentionally sabotaging his chances with her.

The film is nothing special. It’s made by its superior acting from the early 30 something cast made up of Brandon Routh, Jennifer Morrison, Sophia Bush and Johnny Galecki. You’ve seen a third wheel story done to death, but Routh endears you to his lead character. The guy’s got the chops of a young Cary Grant and he never gets the respect he deserves. If you’re down for a good romantic comedy, this is for you.

The DVD is a decent looking movie with amazing sound and visuals. The special features sport several production featurettes and a commentary with the writer/director. I wish that there was more material, as I’m starting to grow on Brandon Routh as a leading man. Still, I don’t expect that many people to see this movie. If you have the chance, rent it.
