After a wildly successful debut last year, this is one of the summer’s must-attend repertory events for any self-respecting genre fan, myself very much included.
An Instant Tradition
The inaugural event set a high bar. Last year’s first Texas Chain Saw Day drew fans to more than 900 theaters nationwide and finished as the number two horror film at the domestic box office that day, an extraordinary showing for a film that turned 50 in 2024. That response was strong enough to convince both partners to make it an annual fixture, and the Chain Saw faithful are being welcomed back for another round.

Most notably, acclaimed Obsession filmmaker Curry Barker, who has been tapped to direct A24’s upcoming reimagining of the Texas Chain Saw franchise, has pointed to the original as a foundational influence on his vision.
