GOOD BOYS Available on Digital 10/29 & Blu-ray™ and DVD on 11/12

How bad can a sixth grader’s day really get? From creative masterminds Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Superbad, Pineapple Express, Sausage Party) comes the new hit comedy Good Boys, available on Digital October 29, 2019, as well as Blu-rayTM, DVD and On Demand on November 12, 2019. Certified Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes as the biggest original comedy opening of the year, the movie is making audiences laugh out loud with its perfect mix of side-splitting adult humor and oblivious-yet-loveable trio of grade-school friends. Described as “a highly original coming-of-age tale,” (Katie Walsh, Chicago Tribune), Good Boys is loaded with outrageous unrated exclusive bonus content including a never-before-seen alternate ending and deleted and extended scenes as well as featurettes with the cast and crew, treating audiences to some gut-busting behind-the-scenes moments.

After being invited to his first kissing party, 12-year-old Max (Jacob Tremblay; Room) is panicking because he doesn’t know how to kiss. Eager for some pointers, Max and his best friends Thor (Brady Noon, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) and Lucas (Keith L. Williams, Fox’s The Last Man On Earth) decide to use Max’s dad’s drone – which Max is forbidden to touch – to spy on a teenage couple making out next door. But when things go ridiculously wrong, the drone is destroyed. Desperate to replace it before Max’s dad (Will Forte, The Last Man on Earth) gets home, the boys skip school and set off on an odyssey of epically bad decisions involving some accidentally stolen drugs, frat-house paintball, and running from both the cops and two terrifying teenage girls (Molly Gordon; Life of the Party and Midori Francis; Ocean’s Eight).

>From Point Grey producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the writers of Superbad, Pineapple Express and Sausage Party, and James Weaver (Neighbors), Good Boys is co-written and produced by Lee Eisenberg and co-written and directed by Gene Stupnitsky (NBC’s The Office).

Cohen Film Collection brings THE RETURN OF MARTIN GUERRE to DVD and Blu-ray on October 22nd

return of martin guerre blu

Charles S. Cohen, Chairman and CEO of Cohen Media Group, today announced that Cohen Film Collection will release the award-winning modern classic
THE RETURN OF MARTIN GUERRE in a 4K restoration Director’s Cut on Blu-ray and DVD, as well as digital platforms, on October 22, 2019.
THE RETURN OF MARTIN GUERRE, a historical drama starring some of the most esteemed names in French cinema, including Gérard Depardieu, Nathalie Baye and Tchéky Karyo, was instantly hailed as a masterpiece upon its original release in 1982. The breakthrough film by prolific director Daniel Vigne, it is based on an amazing true story of love, war and the nature of identity.
In the 16th century, Martin Guerre (Academy Award nominee Gérard Depardieu), who went off to war seven years earlier, unexpectedly returns home to his village and family. But something strange has happened to him in the intervening years: He seems to demonstrate more wisdom, strength of character and tenderness than both the locals and his wife, Bertrande (Nathalie Baye, Day for Night, An Affair of Love), remember him as having. Accusations of identity theft arise, landing the man Bertrande loves in court – and leaving the audience guessing, along with the characters, if this is the actual Martin.
The real-life case resonated throughout French history and had already been turned into a book, play and opera before producer-director Daniel Vigne enlisted the services of the great screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière (The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, The Unbearable Lightness of Being) for this adaptation. With visuals drawn from Bruegel’s paintings, this richly textured drama won three César Awards – for original screenplay, music and production design – and earned an Oscar nomination for Anne-Marie Marchand’s costume design. The film marked the feature debuts of French cinema mainstays Tchéky Karyo (The Patriot, Mary Magdalene) and Dominique Pinon (Delicatessen, Amélie).
THE RETURN OF MARTIN GUERRE was named Best Foreign Language Film of 1983 by the National Board of Review, and Gérard Depardieu was named Best Actor by the National Society of Film Critics. Vincent Canby of The New York Timesled the parade of praise in 1983, saying, “Gérard Depardieu is superb.” Guy Flatley of Cosmopolitancalled the film “a mysteriously beautiful love story” and added, “You’ll be swept away!” The film has lost none of its beauty and power over the last 35 years. Among today critics who reviewed the film upon its 2019 theatrical re-release, Urban Cinefile said it is “a marvelous and haunting work,” Vanity Fair‘s Carol Flake called it a “sad, exquisite film,” and Atlantic City Weekly‘s Lori Hoffman called it “a brilliant, engaging love story with magnificent performances.”
The Blu-ray and DVD for THE RETURN OF MARTIN GUERRE both contain a wealth of bonus features, including a discussion with actress Nathalie Baye, an optional English-language dialogue track, the original trailer and the restoration trailer.
