S.F. BROWING GRINDHOUSE DOUBLE FEATURE REVIEWED
S.F. Browning brought the grindhouse to the forefront in the late 70s/early 80s. The two films featured into today’s double feature have received releases from other outlets in the recent past. Hell, I’m looking at a double feature sporting Don’t Like in the Basement right now. Browning was a indie horror filmmaker who only produced 5 films before dying in the mid 1990s. The result was fare that usually played as second film features to bigger movies ala The Last House on The Left.
Don’t Look in the Basement features an asylum where the inmates run things. Don’t Open the Door features a caring young woman being trapped in a house with a maniac that might harm her sickly grandmother. It’s quick run features that each play around the 90 minute marker. Nothing is learned or gained. However, there is full frontal nudity on the trailers included in the special features. So, be wary of that in mixed company.
