ROCKFORD FILES, THE: SEASON TWO

ROCKFORD FILES, THE: SEASON TWO 1

THE ROCKFORD FILES: SEASON TWO REVIEWED

“The Rockford Files” returns for a second year of doin’ it right as a private eye. Rockford has to deal with a crooked poker game, William Daniels and Lou Gossett Jr as a jive rival private eye. The guest stars are rich this season, but few compare to John Saxon and Linda Evans. If you ever wanted to see a quintessential 70s show, this year is almost every cliche wrapped up into a new package. But, Stephen J. Cannell knew what he was doing and he sold the show well. Many stunts performed this year by Garner would lead to Garner’s health problems that eventually killed the show. Rob Reiner shows up as a second string quarterback, though. That counts for something? Right?
