REGULAR SHOW: THE MOVIE

Regular Show isn't Adventure Time, but what is?

“Regular Show: The Movie” is a loving tribute to the action Sci-Fi films of the 1980s and 1990s. But, done in that lip service sort of way that kids’ shows tend to do. Muscle Man gets a nice Back to the Future Part 2 bit of time manipulation. Which only goes to show how far that film has become ingrained into 2015. But, there’s other fun set pieces.

It’s just that I appreciate Regular Show, I’ve just never been a fan. Everybody draws their sides and picks favorites. I love the Rolling Stones, but I’m a fan of The Beatles. I guess it comes down to the fact that you have two sets of characters that are virtually the same. Sure, it would be boring just to focus on Rigby and Mordecai throughout the entire movie. But, did Muscle Man need that much time?

The DVD comes with animatics, board pitch, concept art, art galleries, trailer and commentary as the special features. The A/V Quality is strong for standard definition. But, let’s take a step back. You’ve got Jason “Zooks” Mantzoukas aka Rafi doing voice work. This is an automatic must-buy.

RELEASE DATE: 10/13/2015
