THE RAILWAY CHILDREN REVIEWED
“The Railway Children” is a bizarre little tale. It’s not something I grew up with, but I always heard stories about the stage productions. So, seeing a filmed live performance came across as interesting to me. While watching the film, I was kinda shocked by the parallels to The Last Station. From there, it was being impressed by the innovative theater in the round setting. Then, the third act made the film like it was 12 hours long.
While the movie plays shorter than I expected, it also moves at a pace that will make any and all children tear their hair out. If anyone will enjoy it, it will be fans of the story. Other than that, this is a film you break out for audiences after they’re already warmed up. It’s a shame, but that’s the way it is now.
