“Prince Philip: The Plot To Make A King” is a fascinating hour long look at Prince Philip. I knew that Queen Elizabeth II’s uncle and lover had Nazi ties, but I wasn’t sure about Philip’s family. Seeing how closely tied his Germanic roots were to the rise of the Nazi party reveals neat historic tidbits. While Philip decried his family’s fraternizing with Hitler, it left a sour taste in the mouth of the British people. Still, Queen Elizabeth II loved him and made it work. Things like this are what make the hour long documentary format so frustrating. This should be Part 1 of a much larger series.
