Adult entertainment and live comedy collide on Saturday, August 1, when Porn Stars Are Funny: A Comedy Sketch Show takes over The Elysian in Los Angeles for a one-night performance featuring adult performers alongside experienced sketch comedy writers.
The production stars Cherie DeVille, Shawn Alff, Little Puck and Yhivi, who will make their sketch comedy debut performing original material created by comedy writers Hannah Berkowitz, Matt Barrett Miller and Clare Jackson.
A Different Kind of Stage
Rather than stand-up or panel discussions, Porn Stars Are Funny is built around scripted sketch comedy, pairing performers from the adult industry with writers who have spent years developing comedic material.
Berkowitz and Jackson currently write for HBO’s I Love LA, while Miller performs monthly with a house sketch team at Upright Citizens Brigade.

An Ensemble Performance
Cherie DeVille says the collaborative nature of the production is what drew her to the project.
“This is a true ensemble, which is what makes it so exciting,” DeVille said.
She continued:
“Hannah, Matt and Clare wrote something for all four of us to jump into, and sharing the stage with my fellow porn performers, as well as these seasoned writers and comedians, is going to be a completely new kind of chaos.”
The production gives all four performers an opportunity to step outside their familiar work and try live sketch comedy for the first time.
Live in Los Angeles or Streaming Anywhere
In addition to the in-person audience at The Elysian, the performance will also be livestreamed, allowing viewers around the world to watch the show in real time.
DeVille says making the performance available online was an important part of the event.
“I also love that people who cannot make it to Los Angeles can still watch the show live from home.”
The livestream expands the audience beyond Southern California while giving longtime fans a chance to experience the performance from anywhere.

The show reflects a growing trend of creators branching into live entertainment beyond their primary careers.
