A jilted fan soon finds himself pulled into a deadly game of cat-and-mouse after he accepts the opportunity to spy on his favorite actress via his laptop.[/text_block_nav][text_block_nav title=”Why am I watching this?”]Why am I watching this?
“Open Windows” is a film about fandom and technological access. Elijah Wood plays a young man that runs a website dedicated to his favorite actress. Recently, he won a contest that would allow him to meet her in Austin. The catch is that a strange fellow has started contacting him to say that the actress won’t be participating. But, if the young man is willing to play along, he can make her pay.
The film takes place on a variety of browsers across a computer screen. Plus, you get this forced subplot about French hackers trying to take the power back against the mystery guy that is setting the action into play. A ton of the computer graphics seem out of date and Elijah Wood tries his hardest to work past it. But, the film plays as a wee bit of a jumble onscreen.
Sasha Grey tries her best, but she can only do so much with the material. If you dug “Timecrimes”, then I recommend checking it out.[/text_block_nav][text_block_nav title=”When Can I Pick It Up?”]Release Date: January 27th, 2015[/text_block_nav]
