NBC Sports, in its 18th season as the broadcast home of Notre Dame home football games, presents live HD coverage of the Fighting Irish (3-1) hosting the Stanford Cardinal (3-2) Saturday, 2:30 p.m. ET presented by Vonage. Coverage begins on at 2 p.m. ET with the “Vonage Notre Dame Countdown to Kickoff” (see details below). Both teams are coming off victories last weekend. The Irish blew open a 14-14 game at halftime to defeat Purdue 38-21, while the Cardinal won on the road at Washington, 35-28.

Tom Hammond (play-by-play) and Pat Haden (analyst) team up for their ninth season together as the voices of Notre Dame on NBC joined by sideline reporter Alex Flanagan, who is also a reporter for the NFL Network.

“Notre Dame’s young players, its freshmen and sophomores, are really beginning to emerge,” said Haden. “Golden Tate and Michael Floyd have become outstanding, big-play receivers. Notre Dame now was a lot of firepower.

“Both Notre Dame and Stanford are two teams on the rise. Jim Harbaugh has done a nice job of starting to resurrect the Stanford program. Expect a lot of points on Saturday.”

NOTRE DAME & STANFORD: Notre Dame and Stanford will play one another for the 23rd time in series history on Saturday. The Irish hold a 16-6 (.727) edge in the series, including a 21-14 victory in last season’s meeting in Palo Alto.
