OVER THIRTY-FIVE HOURS OF MYTHBUSTERS need we say more?! To celebrate their ten-year anniversary, those mad scientists in the Mythbusters lab have cooked up their biggest concoction yet: fifty full episodes packed with the craziest, coolest, and most combustible conundrums that the scientific world has to offer. Adam, Jamie, Kari, Tori, and Grant will risk life, limb, and eyebrows to stamp each myth with the official Mythbusters seal. Serving up one huge helping of your favorite explosive entertainment, this is one anniversary celebration you don t wanna miss.

Here’s the thing about “Mythbusters” for me. I only care about the show when they do something big or tie to some show that I liked. I watched the Simpsons episode and I chucked most of their related videos. That being said, I watched nearly a day and half of the show’s TV broadcasts and I’m left a little broke down. The setups and explosions were cool when they happened, but most of the material was just mild stuff that I’ve seen people do on accident.

Busting misconceptions is great, but it doesn’t mean appointment TV for all parts of the demographic. Out of the discs presented, I have to say that I dig Tory’s picks more than anyone else. Adam’s choices tend to be showy, while the other three overlap in their choice cuts from the past decade. I guess there’s a reason that I was never a huge fan of the show, but that shouldn’t dissuade people from checking it out. It’s just that this is a huge investment of time and content for anyone that isn’t a superfan.

The DVD comes with no special features. The A/V Quality is pretty sharp for standard definition. That being said, the transfer still doesn’t excel to HD heights. The Dolby 2.0 track keeps all available channels pumping. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase to fans.
