MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER: VOLUME XXXIII

“Mystery Science Theater 3000” lands a 33rd volume with a dash of Bond influence and some goofy 50s teen bop. The episodes range from 1991-1994 and one last trip to the Sci-Fi Channel era. Honestly, the movies are pretty forgettable. But, the antics at the Satellite involve detailed costumes and quite a few jokes at some of these Corman rejects.

“Teen-Age Crime Wave” might be my favorite disc in awhile from these sets. The robots were funny and the movie was the right kind of material to insult. The problem with insulting the film is that I actually like this kind of schlock. It’s rare when the crew hammers a movie that I dig. But, I enjoy poking fun at a beloved title.

The DVD comes with featurettes, hour wraps, vintage materials, little posters and all sorts of classic movie goodness as the special features. The A/V Quality is on par with the last few releases. The transfers vary based on the era, but they’re all standard definition. The same goes for the Dolby Surround tracks. In the end, MST3K fans are already lining up to buy it.

Release Date: 7/28/15
