This is it. The last mission.
After 28 years, Mission: Impossible reaches its final chapter with The Final Reckoning, now in theaters and heading to Digital on August 19, 2025, followed by a 4K UHD/Blu-ray SteelBook, standard 4K, and DVD release October 14.

Tom Cruise’s Farewell to Ethan Hunt

“Tom Cruise has outdone himself.”
That’s not PR fluff—it’s the consensus from critics across the board.
Highlights:

  • “Biggest and wildest Mission yet” – Erik Davis, Fandango
  • “Stunning blockbuster” – Jonathan Sim, ComingSoon
  • “Goes bigger and harder than ever before” – Jeff Conway, Forbes
  • “Jaw-dropping action” – Kristy Puchko, Mashable
  • “Brilliant” – Ross Bonaime, Collider

Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie wrap the franchise on a note that’s high-octane and deeply reflective—this time it’s personal, not just stunt-based.

Film Synopsis

“Our lives are the sum of our choices.”
Tom Cruise returns one final time as Ethan Hunt, leading the IMF on a mission that demands sacrifice, loyalty, and the closing of a legacy that helped redefine the action genre.

Expect callbacks. Expect full-circle moments. Expect another insane sprint.

Final Thoughts

Paramount is giving this final Mission: Impossible the deluxe treatment it deserves.

Whether you’re watching digitally on August 19 or waiting for the SteelBook on October 14, The Final Reckoning closes out the franchise with fan-service and spectacle turned up to 11.

Love it or not, Tom Cruise is the last of the old-school action stars still doing this the hard way. This isn’t just a summer blockbuster—it’s the end of a cinematic era.

Get ready for your last mission.
