MARCO POLO REVIEWED
“Marco Polo” is a 3 hour TV-movie where the guy from Vampire Diaries travels to meet Brian Dennehy. Dennehy plays the very Asian Kublai Khan in this, so I’ll give the SJWs a chance to google the great character actor while they feign offense. Honestly, the entire movie is a pile of miscues and other oddities. The film is barely a decade old and it feels like it was made 40 years ago. But, I guess that’s the nature of the TV movie.
I’d like to say that this iteration of Marco Polo answered some questions that other versions didn’t. It doesn’t, as it pales when compared to the recent Netflix version. So, why pick it up? Well, you need to see how odd it is to have Dennehy play Kublai Khan. I guess that they thought any fat man would fit the role, but Dennehy plays the role like someone dug up John Wayne and restaged The Conqueror. He seems to be having fun, while BD Wong seems to die inside a little.
If that offends you, then you’re at the wrong site. If that interests you, then pick it up. I love it when Mill Creek releases these oddities.
