“Manifesto” is a visually stunning film. However, it’s also the kind of arthouse fodder that pads Film Festivals and slowly farts out at smaller theaters. While the film is finally coming to DVD, it makes me wonder something. Who is the audience for watching an amazing actress play with set design, scripting and ultimately cinematographic presentation? I’m not opposed to saying some films belong in the educational realm. There is a ton to study here. It’s just that if you don’t approach Manifesto from an educational perspective, it’s going to slip past you.
