LAMB

LAMB REVIEWED

“Lamb” is one of those special kind of odd indie flicks. Following a relationship between an older man and a preteen girl seems to invite an outside read. But, what we get are two sad people that are trying to figure out what’s going on in their worlds. Ross Partridge and Oona Laurence both continue to impress me in everything I watch. I just wish that this film got a little more attention.

Still, it’s a film about an older man taking a young girl on a road trip to beat back apathy. It’s a noble effort, but it returns to the double reading situation. As touching as everything is onscreen, you want to explain away everything that we see David Lamb do. Does he want a child? Is he trying to rebuild a family? Is he going to lure this child to a shallow grave outside of a rest stop? That last read might be dark, but the mind tends to wander.
