KING COBRA REVIEWED
“King Cobra” is a crazy film about the real life gay porn murder case between rival kingpins. Naturally, you should’ve expected that James Franco was starring in this movie. That being said, Christian Slater is the MVP of the film. Slater plays a real life producer that hid his work while living in suburbia. Sure, he knew that he was ripping off his stars to make a better profit. In that sense, no one is truly good in this story.
If one chooses to investigate the real-life case behind this film, you’ll only find minor changes. Slater’s character was the victim and aspects have been changed. However, the sad fate of what happened to Franco and Keegan Allen’s character remains virtually the same. While Brent Corrigan went on to bigger and better things, this dark incident in his past kinda hangs over everything. It’s a weird thing that happens to some performers and I never quite got how they could move past it.
Molly Ringwald and Alicia Silverstone turn in strong supporting roles, but ultimately they don’t mean anything to the final product. A few cuts and you could’ve had an Awards level movie here. Still, what we got is pretty damn sharp.

The Plot Thus Far
This ripped-from-the-headlines drama covers the early rise of gay porn headliner Sean Paul Lockhart a.k.a. Brent Corrigan, before his falling out with the producer who made him famous. When Sean decides he’d be better off a free agent, a cash-strapped pair of rival producers aim to cash in by any means possible.
