Where to begin with what I didn’t cover in the theatrical review? Warbly voiced Eddie Redmayne or the creepy Elephant alien pilot? The dog soldier man played by Channing Tatum or the luscious designs littered throughout the film? There’s so much for me to watch that I can’t get my eyes to focus. But, my ears could hear that horrible script and stilted acting.
What the Wachowskis have created here will probably remain a cult classic for the ages. But, did it earn it the right way? Does any cult classic earn it the right way? The movie is a traditionally terrible Sci-Fi drama that exists to be greater than the sum of its parts. Times like these, you have to take a step back and enjoy the narrative event that exists beyond what so many were willing to dismiss back in February.
The Blu-Ray comes with a DVD copy, Digital HD copy and a ton of featurettes as the special features. The A/V Quality is astonishing. The Dolby Atmos 7.1 master audio track is among the best of 2015 for Blu-Ray releases. The 1080p transfer is equally stunning and I hope that this transfer is remembered by year’s end for Best of 2015 lists. In the end, “Jupiter Ascending” is an A/V bonanza that belongs in your collection.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Release Date: 6/2/15[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
