Jump for a Million: Taylor Sheridan's TRFAM Adds Dock Diving Dogs to 2025 Las Vegas Event

Taylor Sheridan apparently decided horses weren’t enough. The Yellowstone creator’s Run For A Million (TRFAM) event is adding “Jump for a Million” on August 14th at 2PM, because nothing says “prestigious equestrian competition” quite like watching Labs launch themselves into a pool.

Partnering with North America Diving Dogs (NADD), the event brings sixteen of the nation’s top canine athletes to Las Vegas’s South Point Arena. These aren’t your neighbor’s pool-crashing golden retrievers – these are dogs who’ve qualified through five North American events, making this the Westminster of water sports nobody knew they needed.

For those blissfully unaware of dock diving’s existence, it’s exactly what it sounds like: dogs sprint down a dock, launch themselves into the air, and splash into a pool chasing their favorite toy. Points for distance and speed, deductions for doggy paddling. Both the American Kennel Club and Canadian Kennel Club recognize NADD titles, lending legitimacy to what started as backyard shenanigans.

“Seeing our fast-growing sport recognized alongside such high-profile competitions is an absolute joy,” gushes NADD’s Steve Powell, who’s presumably thrilled that Sheridan’s cowboy credibility is rubbing off on competitive cannonballing canines.

The full TRFAM event runs August 11-16, featuring the traditional reining, cow horse, and cutting competitions that made Sheridan’s event famous. Because this is Vegas and Sheridan knows his audience, there’s also a full concert lineup: Flatland Cavalry, Danno Simpson, Ward Davis, Karley Scott Collins, and Waylon Wyatt will provide the soundtrack to both horse and hound athletics.

The timing’s perfect – watch precision horsemanship on August 14th’s Cutting Horse Challenge, then cleanse your palate with dogs doing belly flops. August 15th brings the Cow Horse Challenge for those who prefer their animals dry and their competitions traditional.
