Stadium Media, a leading global digital content provider, has picked up the worldwide digital and VOD rights to distribute Blackheart Films’ comedy Undateable John. The film stars rock icon Joan Jett, Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill: Vol 2), Shannen Doherty (Mallrats), Estella Warren (Planet of the Apes), Tom Arnold (True Lies), Margaret Cho (30 Rock) and Meredith Baxter (All the President’s Men). The film was produced and written by Cynthia Posner and executive produced by Joan Jett, Kenny Laguna and Carianne Brinkman. Today’s announcement was jointly made by Stadium Media’s Mitch Mallon and Blackheart’s Carianne Brinkman.
“Stadium is extremely excited about the addition of Undateable John,” stated Mallon. “It has an all-star cast that will do extremely well in the digital marketplace and on VOD.”
“We are pleased that Undateable John has found a home with Stadium Media,” commented Brinkman. “We look forward to working with Mitch and his team for a release later this year.”
Undateable John follows a slacker surf instructor who is on and off the wagon. He seemingly gets his life together when he falls for a beautiful but troubled young woman he meets in an AA meeting.
