“Jamaica Inn” is one of my favorite early Hitchcock films. While not quite being a pirate story, Maureen O’ Hara plays our heroine as she tries to stop the evil Charles Laughton. Watching as O’Hara puts together that her Uncle is helping Laughton to arrange shipwrecks for profit, you feel that urge to find justice. What’s even more insane is that the movie was originally a stage play. I can’t imagine how such a thing was possible! The Blu-Ray comes with a commentary, re-release trailer and a new video essay as the special features. The A/V Quality sports a fully restored 1080p transfer and a pitch perfect LPCM mono track.
