THE IRON IVAN REVIEWED
“The Iron Ivan” tells the story of Ivan Poddubny. He was a Russian wrestling sensation during the early 20th century. While he spent his early years in the sideshow, Ivan was soon turned into an International competitor for the emerging Communist government. The rest of the film details how well he pulled off being an athlete and a tool of government propaganda. I hope that you can dig that one.
I love getting to see deep cut genre indie films like this. Especially ones that get lost in the World Cinema shuffle. That being said, I can’t help but feel that an HD transfer could’ve made the deep visuals pop. But, that’s just me. Pick it up if you’re curious.
