“Inner Demons” is about how demons can stand in for bitter addictions. A young woman is placed under reality TV surveillance, as her heroin withdrawal unlocks demonic influence. Apparently, the drugs were holding back the demons from escaping from her personal Hellmouth. Wow, that sounds filthy. Did it sound filthy to you?
The problem with possession movies is that they don’t work in an age where audiences demand more. Quiet narratives and introspection don’t lend themselves to scares. There’s something going on underneath the surface, but I’m not sure if it was ever going to make it to screen. Thankfully, it’s short. The DVD comes with a trailer as the sole special feature.
