ICE AGE: THE GREAT EGG-SCAPADE REVIEWED

“Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade” is an Easter themed jaunt reminding kids that a new Ice Age movie hits theaters in the summer. In this adventure, Sid helps a dodo protect her eggs. This invites the others in on an egg hunt, as other creatures show up to provide for merchandising opportunities. For about $5, the feature flies through quickly. Most of the material are the Scrat shorts in the special features, but the main feature is a solid 22 minutes. If you’re still pondering the theological significance of Easter taking place in the Ice Age, then you’re in my boat. While my kid loved the short, I found myself watching repeatedly alongside her. Why force such a holiday into a weird setup? The answer is cheap movie tie-in, but kids loved it. Isn’t that what matters?
