HARLEY DAVIDSON AND THE MARLBORO MAN

“Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man” was one of those movies I used to see during my repeat Kroger Video visits as a youth. I knew of Don Johnson from Miami Vice and Mickey Rourke was the weirdo from ” 9 1/2 Weeks”. I used to have this weird obsession with wanting to see “9 1/2 Weeks” as a little kid because I thought it was an action movie like “Year of the Dragon”. Well, this is a low-key film about two friends who want to stop their favorite bar from closing. That leads them to ripping off a banker that goes really bad.

It turns out that the banker was hiding a synthetic drug in his vault and now he’s paying out a huge bounty to recover his goods and kill the titular heroes. The two guys work their asses off to fight the hired killers and the bank head that wants them dead. Vanessa Williams offers up a fun supporting turn. But, I have to bring up that this film was the first time that I learned Tia Carrere existed. 1991 was an amazing time to be a young man that loved the magic of movies.

The Blu-Ray comes with a featurette and trailer as the special features. The A/V Quality sports a clean 1080p transfer. If that wasn’t enough, you also get a super strong DTS-HD 2.0 master audio track. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase.

Release Date: 05/19/15
