Eureka Classics Unleashes Exact Revenge Blu-ray Double Feature

Eureka Entertainment drops two Shaw Brothers deep cuts on Blu-ray for the first time anywhere in the world.

Exact Revenge, a double feature of The Eunuch and The Deadly Knives, hits the Eureka Classics line on June 17, 2025, as a limited edition of 2000 copies in North America.

It’s a pure dose of early-’70s Hong Kong revenge cinema — one foot in classic wuxia, the other in rising kung fu violence.

What’s in the Set

The Eunuch (1971)

  • Written by Lo Wei (Fist of Fury)
  • Directed by Teddy Yip (The Black Tavern)
  • Stars Pai Ying (The Valiant Ones) as the eunuch Gui De-hai
  • After a failed assassination attempt, Gui wipes out the Emperor and his family
  • The missing Prince means the job isn’t finished

The Deadly Knives (aka Fists of Vengeance, 1972)

  • Stars Ching Li and Ling Yun
  • Romance interrupted by Japanese thugs and family betrayal
  • Honor must be restored — fists must fly
  • Features Ching Miao (The Shadow Boxer) as a top-tier villain

Why This Matters

These two films bridge the transition from swordplay wuxia to the post–Bruce Lee kung fu explosion.
Both were made as Shaw Brothers adapted to shifting genre tastes — and neither got the spotlight they deserved.

Now they get it.
