DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID REVIEWED

“Diary of a Chambermaid” is one of those world lit titles that keep getting wheeled out of for film adaptations. For those that don’t read, here’s the breakdown. Young hot maid keeps dealing with upper class snobs that treat her like dirt. Well, that’s when the man of the house isn’t trying to gut stab her. This version backs away from the sexuality of the Bunuel take and wants to make something more about period class warfare.

When the Chambermaid makes friends out of her employers’ home, she feels the need to escape. Will her plan work or does it even matter? She’s still a rather poor and ignorant young woman that knows nothing in the world other than scrubbing floors. Sometimes, it just doesn’t work out for our heroes.
