Demora Avarice is sharing the personal story behind her public persona in a new multi-page feature for UK women’s weekly Take a Break, appearing under the rather difficult-to-ignore headline, “I’m Not Preggers, I’m Just Big Boobed!”
The feature goes well beyond the headline.
Avarice discusses motherhood, losing her sense of identity after major life changes and the decision to reclaim some of the confidence she felt she had lost. That process eventually led somewhere she never expected, including an online following and a new full-time career.
From Hiding in Family Photos to Taking Up Space
Avarice tells Take a Break that after two C-sections and a hysterectomy, she reached a point where she avoided showing her body in family photographs.
“I’d given so much of myself to my kids I had no idea who I was anymore, I was just a shell,” Avarice said.
She eventually chose cosmetic surgery as something she wanted to do for herself. While the procedures changed her appearance, Avarice says the larger transformation came from rebuilding her confidence and becoming comfortable putting herself back in the picture.
Literally.
Sharing that experience online began attracting an audience interested in following her story. Requests from followers eventually convinced Avarice to start an OnlyFans account, turning what began as posts about a personal transformation into a business capable of supporting her family.
And No, She’s Not Pregnant
Then there are the misunderstandings.
Avarice tells the magazine that strangers regularly mistake her figure for pregnancy, occasionally leading to conversations that go considerably further than a passing glance.
One encounter at an airport involved a woman questioning whether Avarice should even be flying. After the questions continued, Avarice decided visual clarification was apparently the fastest way through airport customer service.
“I calmly explained, ‘I’m not having a baby, I just have big breasts,'” she recalled.
It’s the lighter side of a story that Avarice ultimately frames around becoming comfortable with herself after years of doing the opposite.
“Six years ago, I was hiding behind my children in photographs, ashamed and depressed,” she told Take a Break. “Today, I no longer apologize for taking up space. If strangers think I’m pregnant, let them.”
