DEADPOOL

DEADPOOL REVIEWED

“Deadpool” is a constant reminder that I need to have these reviews set up in advance. Don’t ever get sick, people. You’ll spend weeks getting back on schedule. But, back to “Deadpool”. This is as close to the source material as you can get. Borrowing heavily from the Joe Kelly run, Deadpool hits the ground by bringing in Ajax, the origin and the X-Men tie-ins. Constantly poking fun at its lack of budget, this only set up the film for its eventual box office run where it became R-rated comic book superstar gold rush “Mutants Staying at FOX” bonanza.

After watching the film twice, I wonder where do they go next? The obvious answer is X-Force, but how do you really mine a second Deadpool film? Do you go to North Korea, resurrect Dead Presidents or go super serious and dark? Take the easy money, Fox. Cast someone for Cable and just shuffle this character into a team movie. The American people love their teams of mutants. Just ask Marvel. Look at all of the characters they had to turn into Inhumans overnight.
