Dark Sky Films Unveils "Kill Your Lover" Digital and VOD June 7th

Dark Sky Films is excited to introduce the gripping horror film “Kill Your Lover,” marking the feature debut of the talented writer-director-producer duo, Alix Austin and Keir Siewert. This film stars Paige Gilmour and Shane Quigley Murphy, whose performances are already creating buzz.

“Kill Your Lover” delves deep into the sinister aspects of a deteriorating relationship, blending frank sexuality with visceral body horror. The story follows Dakota (played by Paige Gilmour in her feature debut) as she attempts to escape her toxic relationship with Axel (Shane Quigley Murphy, known for “Vikings: Valhalla” and “Foundation”). Axel’s inability to let Dakota go triggers a horrifying transformation in him—grotesque black veins emerge on his body, and his touch becomes lethally scorching, turning him into a literal monster.

The cast also includes notable performances from May Kelly (“Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey”), Chloe Wigmore (“Breaking the Band”), and Joshua Whincup, enriching the film’s dark narrative. Behind the scenes, Keir Siewert brings his editing prowess, while Thibault Chavanis sets the eerie tone with his musical score. Rebecca Wheeler, renowned for her work in “Boiling Point” and “The Siege,” masterfully crafts the grisly makeup effects that bring the film’s chilling transformation to life.

“Kill Your Lover” had the honor of premiering as the Opening Night feature at the 2023 Brooklyn Horror Film Festival. It will also be showcased at FilmQuest 2023, where both Austin and Murphy have garnered nominations for Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively, and the film is a contender for Best Visual Effects.
