Join the Cheerleaders and their official trainer Jay Johnson on the field of famous Texas Stadium for a series of fat-blasting boot camp-style workouts. These routines will burn major calories, transform your body and kick-start your metabolism! The main program features both low-impact and high-impact workouts that are proven to define, strengthen and tighten your upper body, lower body and core. Each routine has modifications for beginner, intermediate and advanced. Focus on a specific area, or do the entire body program for a total body workout!
WHAT WE THOUGHT
A half dozen ultra-healthy “Power Squad” members adorned in sequined and numbered bras and actually being quite clear in this flirty cheer-dance DVD. I was recently reading “Candy Girl” by Diablo Cody and it made me think about what’s going on here. The mainstreaming of sexual exploration via the usual teases and other pseudo stripping is kind of amazing. You’ve just got to love that middle America has learned that they can get those perfect abs by showing it all off.
The amount of skill needed is moderate until they start doing the routine at their regular speed and then you can tell why you’re you and they are Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. After that, you’re working your ass while laughing at some of the dumber cheerleaders. There’s one with a Minnie Mouse voice that just kills me. Pick your own cheerleader to mock. It makes the pain in your legs go away that much faster.
The DVD comes with an instructor only audio track for those that find this kind of thing hard to follow. There’s also some alternative exercises and cheer routines. Teenage girls and bottle blondes might dig this, but it would be asking too much for the plus-sized girls out there. That’s why there’s always a box of mallomars with their name on it. Rent it to judge it first.
