How many movies does Jack Black have to do before he’s taking seriously as an actor? Black and Marsden take what could’ve been a dumpster fire of a movie and take it to a place that makes insanely progressive. After all, how many times can you keep telling the same story about a High School reunion? For those that haven’t seen the film yet, there’s a reason why old people are annoyed by it.
But, I’m not going to spoil that here. I’m just going to say that the big surprise of the film is what drives the movie. It’s so strong that I’ve almost blanked out everything that happens before that moment. That’s not to crap on Kathryn Hahn and the others who deliver the goods. It’s just that this movie belongs to Marsden and Black.
The Blu-Ray comes with a gag reel and deleted scenes as the special features. The A/V Quality is strong for a comedy. The 1080p transfer seems crisp enough. Plus, the DTS-HD 5.1 master audio track is insanely expansive and creates fully staged environments. In the end, I’d recommend a purchase.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
