The Dark Red is one of those psych thriller pseudo horror movies. Telling the story of a woman who ends up in the psych ward, she claims evil forces stole her baby. What follows is a series of dialogue heavy scenes about what constitutes a crazy woman in the modern era. What follows is a conspiracy that would have made The Parallax Corporation proud.
Cults in horror cinema never get a fair shake anymore. I chalk that up to the Internet turning every other weirdo into Art Bell. Everyone thinks there is some secret history to everything when all mysteries usually have logical answers. That’s the problem with cults, conspiracies and other things…it rarely has a grand ending.
The Dark Sky Films DVD comes with no special features. However, you get impressive A/V Quality for a low budget horror film. I’d recommend a purchase to the curious.
