In SHREDDER ORPHEUS, Robert McGinley reinvents the Greek myth as a wild post-apocalyptic skateboard rock opera—a hypnotic fever dream reminiscent of Devo’s “Whip It,” classic Bones Brigade skate tapes, and surrealist art cinema. The story follows Orpheus, a rock star who must descend to hell on his skateboard to save his kidnapped wife (and the universe itself) from Satan’s mind-controlling TV transmissions.
Author David Irons pushes the boundaries even further, deepening the story’s insanity and wild imagination in the official novelization based on the film’s original screenplay, launching the same day as the screening.
