For those readers under the age of 25, that used to be a popular soap opera that people watched in the 1980s. Linda Evans used to be considered hot and that opening theme was memorable. This spin-off lasted two seasons and sported a far greater cast. Hell, they had Katharine Ross, Ricardo Montalban and Charlton Heston living it up on the series.

The rich bitch enjoyment of 80s TV culture got old fast. While “Dynasty” played on family emotion and true romance, “The Colbys” existed as an afterthought. If you’ve got two series tackling the same material, then why go with the knock-off? At least, “Dynasty” was going nutty around this time with the Moldavian Massacre and related material. Everything on “The Colbys” felt like it had been done before and better.

The DVD comes with new cast interviews as the special features. The A/V Quality is typical for a series of its age. The transfer is a flat standard definition mix. The Dolby 2.0 surround keeps everything upfront. In the end, it’s worth a purchase to fans or Dynasty completists.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Release Date: 05/12/15[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
