CASTLE THE FINAL SEASON REVIEWED
“Castle” ends its run with a big CIA analyst investigation. Well, Kate also finds out who killed her mom. This created a Mentalist style season long investigation that saw Castle and Beckett getting split up for most of the season. Too many Cousin Oliver style supporting roles were added to pad out the show. Plus, it felt like they were giving Molly Quinn way too much to do too late into the show’s run.
A lot of people were surprised to see so many ABC shows get the axe this year, but “Castle” proves why it happened. Sometimes, complacency and familiarity breeds poor drama. Could the series have been saved if it ended with Season 6? Perhaps, but all we’re left with is a drama that collapsed on its inability to find a conclusion. Take that for what you will and move on.
