CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR REVIEWED
“Careful What You Wish For” wants to be Hitchcock, as much as it wants to be a Neo Noir. Nick Jonas could fare well in something on par with “Disturbia”, but he’s over his head with the adult subject matter here. While the film struggles to earn its R, I found a need for a bit more maturity to be present. Plus, it doesn’t help that I don’t buy Isabel Lucas as a femme fatale. But, let’s not be too negative here.
The film eventually ends. Just kidding, people. Paul Sorvino and Dermot Mulroney make the most out of their supporting roles. It’s just that we get less of them and more Young Hollywood trying to act their way out of a B-list paperbag. Such things don’t happen and the end result is a film that I had to watch twice since I kept forgetting about it.
